Easy getting the old one off. Got to get smart getting the new one on

Used a tyrap to pull it into place

I didn’t work on a lot of /6’s. The ones I did work on, I always replaced that hose when the head was off – because otherwise it would be a bear.

Chrysler made regular (G) and raised block (RG) /6’s. The 170 is a G and 198 and 225 are both RG’s. That hose is about 1” shorter for the 170’s.
For the 170’s. you had to remove the water pump because otherwise the hose was too short.

Unrelated, I’m not sure the 170’s wasn’t a better running engine than the 225’ were because of the shorter stroke.
