Since my 5th sat for a number of years before I bought it, and bucked like a stallion with a bee under the saddle, I pulled the carb off, tore it apart, and let it soak overnight in mineral spirits. Problem was I didn't have a big enough pan to submerge or properly. It was much improved, but still not quite right. Fast forward almost two years, I've done some more work on various other bits and pieces, new fuel filter, plugs wires cap rotor and coil, new o2 sensor, and etc.. MUCH better than when I first got it, but still a tiny bit off. I got so used to it, but there's a contrast now that it's cooler out, it runs smoother with the choke on. Leading me to believe that the initial clean/rebuild I did wasn't quite thorough enough.

Removing the carb is easy enough.
