I acquired the following 76 roadrunner drag car a few years ago and have been making great progress on it. I went to replace the rear suspension components and found out the PO installed the wider cop Car shackles and mounts in the rear.
Car has b body 8 3/4 with b body Super stock spring and the perches have been moved so no need for offset shackles.
1. I'm trying to understand if there is any advantage to this wider shackle over stock width hangers for racing, performance, or with Super stock springs in particular?
2. My understanding is these wider shackle came with cars that had rear sway bars. So aren't they more helpful for road course use instead of street/strip? Even then do they really make a difference that's noticeable?
