Didn't notice this when I picked up a Volare last week, doing the oil change and starting to look for the source of the leaks i found this. I'm assuming this means the oil pump is doomed to leak forever and I should be looking for a block, but what do y'all think?

It depends on if the gasket sealing surface is broken, or it's just the bolt boss. If the sealing surface is OK, and the bolt is long enough to still be holding and torqued, it might be alright. Hard to tell from a photo.

Looks like most of the oil is coming above that area. Would be a good idea to clean everything up nice and dry, and then run the engine long enough to see exactly where oil is leaking first.

Thanks, it looks totally hollow behind there but that sounds like it's worth taking a little time and degreaser and looking at more.

After you degrease it try using a automotive leak die test kit. That should help you pinpoint where it's actually coming from.
