Ebay seller from years ago had the clearest info on the car imo.

Shocked no one picked this up in your build pics. Was the lower cowl drain put back in on your repair? The center is the lowest point in the cowl and will hold water like a small bucket with no drain. They rust out there as yours did when the lower drain is plugged. Kinda a problem if left out.

Actually what was done was I made a cover for the cowl screen/vent and covered it sealing it with silicone and painted it the same color as car. No water is getting in there
