I picked up a '78 Plymouth Street Kit Car a couple weeks ago:

Did a brake job last week and broke the metal axle line, so I can't drive it!!

Welcome to the site.

You will get that brake line sorted out.

Clean Machine!
As nice as that car is,
I can't believe did't didn't come with center caps.

After looking at some images of other Petty Kit Cars,
I see some that have them and some that don't.

I wonder if it was an option or people just added them later.

Stock cars don`t have centers or trim rings at the track. I think it would be more authentic without them on a kitcar. Supercoupes have the same rims but they did have the trim rings and centers. I`m kind of suprised that your kitcar has fender mount turn signal indicators. You wouldn`t need those at the track either.

I had been assuming that all Aspen & Volares of this vintage had fender-mounted turn signals. I'll check the fender tag codes.

Does anyone know if the F-Bodies came with build sheets like the older Mopars?

Possibly tucked in under back seat bottom. Fender mount turn signal indicators were an option. May have come with some packages.

I haven't found a build sheet on mine yet, got the Gas Tank out, Back Seat out and nothing. Haven't had time to look anywhere else yet on the booger.

I've seen 15 by 8 wheels without the 6 slotted holes in a few pictures

There are guys who will make custom widths and offsets on the main Mopar wheels: standard steel, rallye, road and cop.

I was at a local cruise-in last night and several kids ran up to my car and said "it's the King!" I mistaken thought all of these little kids knew about Richard Petty. Then one of the parents told me it was a car on CARS The Movie. Oh well.

Very cool, I love the F bodies but the specialty cars like the kit cars, super coupes and R/T's are my favorites.
