Never fails I start on something and it gets way more complicated. Car had a big block in it and guessing they didn’t like the way it sat and stuff was in the way so let the hacking begin. Figured oh well I got an old v-8 k-member our back I’ll swap it. Well MY road salt and time are that option, number 2 Parts car, kne it had been in a fender bender, bent bolts and found some rust at one of the biscuits, guess I’m fixing it. Took the rotted one and surgically removed the old mounts with a torch and trimmed with a grinder, now extracting the bad and trim and insert parts and pieces as needed.

Ran out of battery last night so here are the trimmed up pieces going in ( I have now realized that that this is all because they had a big block and the Schumacher mounts to work need to rework the k member)

That's exactly what I did when swapping to a BB from S6 back in 1989 on my Aspen. Even then, it was impossible to find a V-8 k-frame that wasn't rotted out (Wisconsin). Cut the frame brackets off a V-8 k, cut the S6 ones off mine and welded the V-8 brackets on, and used stock '73 up spool mounts off an unknown donor (Probably a Charger or something like that, don't remember anymore). Didn't do any of the extra curricular cutting it appears they did though. This was before Schumacher mounts were even an option because they didn't exist then.

Always fun fixing someone else's work, isn't it?
