OK,.....a better description: My car is a 77 LeBaron, CA car.
There are three steel lines under car,... to and from tank.
Line 1. This line usually 3/8", comes directly from the sending unit which supplies fuel directly to the fuel pump.
Line 2. This line is a fuel return line to tank from the fuel filter. (it's the small leg on the side of the filter)
LIne 3. This line is a vapor pressure line that comes from the charcoal canister. It takes excess fuel vapors that are
created in the carb/tank and routed to the canister. This VP line helps create a closed vapor system while the engine is off.
IT is the line that has the roll over valve. It's to stop fuel from back filling the charcoal canister in a roll over.
This line out of the three is the only line that is "dry". It's possible over a given length of time, for it to get stuck
open as it's subject to vapor residue. It's more or less a check valve where vapors can travel to and from
the carb/tank but will close when the back side is subjected to liquid as in a roll over.
The gas cap in the inside center, has several small holes that are for tank vapor pressure relief. You can check to
make sure it works by, cleaning it off first, then lightly sucking and blowing on the small center area and you will
feel it open and close.
Any thing I missed, please add.
