Welcome to the forum, I've had a few of the wagons back in the day....
I always thought it would be cool to build a drag car with one...

Way back when (like mid '80's), I worked with a guy that had a '78 Aspen "sedan delivery". Rear cargo area windows were replaced with sheetmetal and IIRC, he had the rear door glass blacked out. It was a 318 though, with Cragar SS, dual exhaust, etc. Don't recall how the interior cargo area was finished. Cool looking car.

yah, they make great work trucks. I had a 318 Volare' wagon before the aspen. it had chrome steal 5 spoke wheels and light truck all terrain tires. for extra traction in gravel.

for those that may be interested, the billet grill on the volare' was made from a 2005 ford super duty after market 1 piece grill, that I cut down to fit. width and curvature was a good match with no mods needed. I also drilled and compressed the front bumper shocks and removed the plastic filler strips for a tucked look. which is why the grill looks to be floating above the bumper, instead of behind it. the light bezels are off a70- 75 duster
