    Hey everyone,
I was looking around under the hood and noticed my accelerator pump arm is barely catching. I haven't had any issues as far as performance etc. There seems to be very little slack between the arm,I haven't ran a feeler gauge under it to check but it seems odd being this far off. The carb is a newer Holley 600 vacuum advance if it matters. Is this a common occurrence? There something I need to check and readjust to center it?Not the best pic but gives you an idea.
    Thanks

It should be zero gap, just BARELY touching the arm without moving it. Then you want to check it at WOT to make sure it isn't bottoming the pump out. There should be a hair more travel on the pump arm left, maybe .015" or so, give or take a little. If there is a slight gap at closed throttle, it isn't that big of a deal though.

Goes without saying but, make sure the choke is open and it's not on the fast idle cam, when checking the gap.

Your jacked up a bit, carbs been dropped or pried on, get your pump linkage squared away and then set your tiny air gap.

You should run better from the jump or not.

I never have had this issue before, carb has never been taken off so far. Only owned it about a year or so now. I'll try and to bend/adjust the linkage in the carb back to where the pump arm should contact in the center and readjust the the gap etc.
