I have a 1979 Plymouth Volare Duster. I've unlocked steering column and put car in 1 (to get column shifter the most out of the way it can) but I am having trouble getting bezel on. Should it just clip in, or do I have to remove parts to put it on? I just really don't want to break this unobtanium. Thanks

They will go in but need to be flexed slightly in the middle carefully. Otherwise, unhook the shift indicator cable from the column, remove the 3 toe plate bolts, then the 2 nuts at the column support. This way the column can be lowered. Rest the wheel on the seat. You may be able to just loosen the nuts to the end of the studs. That'll let the column come down a bit, and give you enough room. Lowering the column also minimizes the chance of scratching the paint.
