So for about a week now my '87 Diplomat has been idling poorly and stalling either immediately off idle or when taking slow right turns (hasn't shut off on a left turn yet).
It only runs poorly, as described above, intermittently though. One day it starts/runs fine, next day it's not. Never runs poorly under some amount of throttle, except sometimes when cold, it'll stumble until it warms up.
Gave the carb body a couple good whacks with the old wrench, didn't seem to make a difference for better or worse. Tried using brake clean to find vacuum leaks around carb, couldn't find any. Looked down carb while running with and without any throttle. Seemed to be operating all good.
Is the carb the problem or is the lean burn system? What are the symptoms the lean burn computer would be failing? The car is completely stock with 47,000 miles. Only thing I've done is a tune-up and put some seafoam in the tank.
Any suggestions? (other than just replacing the whole lean burn system, don't want to spend that money yet)
