I don't currently own an FMJ but recently decided that what I really need in my live is a 1976 - 1980 Dodge Aspen / Plymouth Volare wagon with a V8 so I've ben on the hunt for one. Just found this site, not sure why it took so long but, looks like the best resource so far. Looking forward to digging in!
Thanks!

if you lived in oregon, , I have a 78 aspen SE rebuild as you like project/ parts wagon, that I'll be getting rid of soon. currently a 225, but. that could change if you can find a V-8 doner. I thought about rebuilding the interior my self, as a pre-76 duster. but I dont have the time or cash for it.

Its pretty simple. There are great examples of all to be bought. Folks just need to pry that wallet or checkbook open and realize its not 1990.

Time and time again this stuff pops up but the answer is simple. Check marketplace and CL all over the country one time a day and in a few days anyone can find a nice FMJ car. One just has to keep there nose to the ground and have cash ready.

Thanks for the warm welcome, tips, and advice gentlemen. I very much appreciate it.

if you lived in oregon...

Story of my life, I have the worst timing. I used to live in Beaverton as young man 1/3rd of my current age but moved back east to take a better job in 1995. :)

…do t sleep on Diplomat Wagons.

I'll widen the search for the Diplomat wagons. The Aspen / Volare holds a special place in my heart but I wouldn't turn up my nose at a decent Diplomat.

I hear you. I'd owned 3 sedans and two wagons back in the late 80's / early 90's don't think I paid more than $450 for any other them, if fact I gave my girlfriend at the time a real cream puff of a 79 Aspen 6cyl sedan when her car died. She drove it for another 180,000 miles and eventually replaced it with an Audi. (I know this because I'm still married to her even though I had to constantly fix that f*$#ing Audi. ;)).

FB martketplace is the only place I've not been looking but, I'll have to knuckle under and setup an account for the BookofFaces after resisting since they first started flooding the mail servers I managed at a college in Florida in 2005 with invites. I didn't get the social media thing then and I don't get it now but I know some people like it, my whole family uses it including my 87 year old mother. What I do get that it's marketplace has all but nailed the coffin shut on craigslist at this point. I'll just have to create a "burner" account for marketplace use I guess.

Yeah I finally broke down and made a face space account. There are a lot of scammers and even more time wasting a-holes, but the deals have been worth it. Plus I get to meet people who are just as excited about this stuff as I am.

If you're willing to expand your search area, there are a ton of these cars in the South and out West. They won't pass emissions in California, but they will pass in the Nothern states because of our more lax requirements for older vehicles.

You could definitely ship one cross country. Shippers would just send it with a bunch of other cars going East so it wouldn't be as awful if you just tried to bring it back yourself.
