So would a 1988 Chrysler New Yorker Landau be a M body? May go look at one. Looks to be in good condition. Electronic odometer shows 77,000 miles. 3.3 liter with AT, power everything.

New Yorker/New Yorker Salon/New Yorker Landau ('88-'92)
Wheelbase: 104.3*
 
As far as M bodies goes.
In 82 a New Yorker was an M
In 83 it was a New Yorker Fifth Avenue Edition
And in 84 was just called a Fifth Avenue.
The New Yorker badge would up on a different car line.
 
I have a 87 newyorker it is a variant of the K cars 4 cly 2.2 turbo I really like mine small nice looking and has a lot of pep with the turbo.
