I was on the phone with my sister yesterday with her in tears. My dad had an accident. He was walking his little dachshund, Daisy, yesterday when he slipped and fell on an embankment going into the backyard. Daisy ran underneath him as he was falling. He fell on her, accidentally killing her.
He's pretty broken up over this. He knows it was accident, but he's feeling pretty guilty about it and blaming himself for a freak accident.
And then, as I was on the phone with my sister, my wife was on the phone with her dad getting some bad news there, too. He went in for an MRI on his back and they found a bulged artery going into his stomach. They're going to run a stent and hope they get it in before it becomes a full blown aneurysm.
