Time to change the oil in The Cherry Bomb: OK buy oil and a filter, drain oil and take old filter off, get new filter ready: it doesn't fit! Napa gave me the wrong filter, no where near Napa now, Advanced Auto is the only place near by, nothing before 2000 in the book, go to front to have them look it up: 1985 Plymouth Gran Fury 318: all they have is a K&N filter for $16. the problem is I don't have $16. Think quick: 1994 Dodge Dakota 318: they have 5 or 6 filters! Lesson learned: never say '85 Plymouth when something much newer uses the same part!

Napa probably gave you a metric filter instead of standard. Ford/mopar v8s both used the same filter back in the day. Purolator L14670, carquest 85085, mopar mo090. Ford switched to a metric thread filter that's the same size when they came out with the "modular" v8 in the 90s. Mopar kept the standard thread filter on the 4.7 and hemi until 08,when they switched to the metric one.
