This is a wierd one. New motor, .030 360, no exterior oil leakage, starts up and goes to 80+ psi. Begins to warm up and drops to around 60. At idle drops again to around 30 increased RPM does not affect the drop in pressure. Pressure increases and decreases at random and soon drops below 10 psi. New oil pump drive shaft, no change. New oil pressure guage, no change. I will drain and check the oil and filter next for debris and water. Any ideas????

If it smells like gas you either are running too rich or you have a float issue...it will thin out the oil and wash your bearings. What type of oil and what type of oil pump...standard...high volume or high pressure?

While your at it look closely at the that little valve on the bottom of your pickup tube inside the screen . If that dude has broken loose it'll block off the passage to the pickup tube and cost you an engine .

Just a note...do not run a Fram filter...it can collaspe...run a Wix oil filter or something equal to it...
