The phone published the 1st pic over the second. The 70 B is a 741 cone type center chunk. The other is a 66 B is missing the axles. The others are 742s in Chrysler 300s and Imperials - the sure Grips
I’m surprised a ’70 has a 741 chuck in it (it should be a 489 chuck).
I’m looking for a pair of 8¾” housings, preferably ‘65-67 but will settle for anything ’65-70.
Note: the ’70 axles will not fit the ’66 housing.
In my garage is five complete chucks (two 742, one 741 and two 489) and quite a few gear ratio sets, three sure grips and zero (0) housings. My problem is I don’t want to pay a lot to get a housing shipped to me.
I’m looking for a pair of 8¾” housings, preferably ‘65-67 but will settle for anything ’65-70.

They have a good few 66 complete 8 3/4s. What I don't know is what a 300, Imperial, and the B body size difference is? I think most of what they have are C bodies.
Yeah, I was a bit surprised at seeing the 741 chunk too. I asked the owner if I could just wrench swap the chunk (741) out of the 70 housing and put the 742 chunk into the 70 and buy complete. Gator paid 300 for the complete rear out of a 68 charger from these guys earlier this year. The dad told me 400 for for the 70 complete with the complete 66 Chrysler 300 (742 sure grip). So I would need to cough up more cash, but I get an extra to flip for a few bucks.
The issue is- these guys are getting bothered by the state tree huggers and need to lose half their inventory. So the valuable 8 3/4s and other much need oddball mopar stuff is in grave danger.

Since that Imp is a 318, could it have an 8 1/4? I had not checked. I was looking at 8 3/4 rears all day and never thought to look.
The Imp could have an 8¼” - if they got the trailer towing package – but I would bet a $2 bill that it’s a 7¼”.
The body code plate might mention it, but I can’t read the picture you posted, very well (and I’m not sure what the code would be – if I could read your plate).
The C and Y-body differential housings are:
Perches are all 46” (’65 to 74), and are on bottom side.
‘65-74 flange to flange range between 56.437” to 59.437” (depending on year, SW and if Dodge, Plymouth or Chrysler), which means the axles are difference depending on flange width.
B-body perch width are 44” (’65-70)
’71-74 B-body perches are 47.3” (actually all ’71-81 B’s & R’s are 47.3”), but these are hard to find in 8¾”
A-body perches are (all) 43”
Pickups (and vans?) have perches located on top.
C, Y and newer B-body 8¾ can be cut down – but expense to do so, bites.
I would real like to get my hands on a pair of housings (even one is better than none) and axles (’65-70 (not ’65 axles though) but ’65-67 preferred) – but not really looking excited to pay for freight from there. Removing the chucks first is fine (I don’t need them).
