OK, So my 95 Van has been good, but I'm thinking a time for change.

I found a black 97 Ram 1500 extended cab longbed 4X4, that is all metal, dry underneath, and just a sweet truck. It is a high optioned ordered truck with a 5.9 gas that is smooth running- sounds like my 97 SS/T 5.9.

Sadly, I'll be giving up the short wheel base which was the best for towing / backing into hard areas. Everything in the van works: TV, VCR, DVD, cruise Dual AC air & Heat. Electric fan gets the mpg up and some off the line torque freed up. The wife is driving it less and less. It only has 105 K on the clock

I've replace a lot on the van, but I thinking the van thing has left me.

I'm not sure about trading it for the truck. The truck has 160 K on it. That is less than 10 K a year, so it is respectable.

The seller is asking 4300. I'll throw the van and 1500 at them and see what they say. However, I think it will be more like 2000 or 2500 out of my pocket with the Van.

I'm in that mood of regret before I buy (loosing the van), but I really like that ram.

Tough call...
The Ram is practical and would be great for towing
But how many love vans do you see like that?

I had searched for the van for 3 years. Not many in short wheelbased, most are 3.9s, if not all and they don't have an overdrive trans

The wife would probably be more comfortable in the van.....*wink, wink*....lol.
Tough call as I have only got rid of 2 of mine ever. Good luck with the decision.

My wife is going to freak. She really hates my SS/T although she got a ring in that truck. This current truck I'm eyeing up is a long bed with the extended cab. So it is bigger. I have to think and strategize carefully.

Nice van, I have the same dilemma but I think I'm going with this Ram.

That's clean. I have a potential buyer coming up today for a test drive. I did a KBB entry for my van and the pickup. The van has a trade in value of 2188 with a high value of 2422. The pickup is 4700 at the middle and high at 5300. Those numbers are in range for me. A private buyer has to come in above the low trade in for my van. Similar, the place selling the truck, needs to come in around the low number. I'm expecting to have to come up with 2 grand in order to get the truck.
