factory radio 82 mirada with plug
What one are you looking for the one with the 2 knobs or all the buttons
i have no idea what goes in this car or whats avaliable. tell me what you have tks geo.
These were the factory radios. There was also an optional CB one.
Personally I'd forget those and get a 90s tape/CD one and do the wiring changes which aren't that bad to make it work. It's direct bolt in and still looks pretty stock because it was in the 90s Chrysler products.
ok tks it hought u had one 4 sale
sadyman i cant see your message to me
My Dad has this one pulled from a 1980 if you're interested.
price with plug --ship zip 12590???
Geo, just for your information, that car was ordered "radio delete" when new. The original owner wanted to have an aftermarket radio installed. As we know the OEM radios of the time were not high quality like today.
There are lots of radios the will fit and bolt in place. The same 1.5 DIN size (but shallower than DIN) was used for a long time. The same mounting pattern was used almost as long. Wiring changed somewhat early on. I believe your car should have the older connector and common ground negative speaker wiring. The newer connector(s) is/are wide flat all pins in-line in grey and black. The cars they were used in have separate negative for each speaker. The "good" factory radios were all later and had the newer connectors. Most aftermarket radios also have separate negative for each speaker. What this means for you is you would have to run new speaker wires for aftermarket and later factory radios, since most if not all do not work with common ground negative speaker wiring. Not only will they most likely not work, they are likely to be damaged.
I think the change occurred between '82 and '84.
The radio pictured in Duke5A's post is an earlier model and will work in the common ground negative speaker wiring system. It should plug right in to the earlier wiring. Many of the factory radios grounded through the bracket bolted on the back. Make sure you have at least a ground wire attached to the chassis or it may not work.
