FYI - the news sucks, as at least for me Raybestos was traditionally to "go to" brand for premium stuff.

As of January 26, 2026, First Brands Group has initiated a wind-down of operations for its Raybestos, Centric, and StopTech brake divisions after failing to find a viable buyer during Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings
. This follows a September 2025 filing by the parent company, which reported over $10 billion in liabilities.
Key Details on the Raybestos/First Brands Situation:
  • Operations Ceasing: The North American business units for Raybestos, StopTech, Centric Parts, and Cardone are shutting down.

Man, that really sucks - Raybestos pads were always solid for daily driving and their pricing was pretty reasonable too.

Raybestos was garbage ever since they were bought up years ago. wear was fast, fitment was hit or miss and almost always made noise.

even before 2020 i stayed away. i really avoided installing their parts on customer cars. i only want to do a job once.

one company that i will miss will be NGK.

Interesting experience, quite the opposite of what I've seen with just about all of our family cars as well as my Mopar.

From a performance/HD usage perspective I suppose the Coupe has been the 'poster child', multiple fast stops at the end of the 1/4 mile haven't seem to have put any warping on the 11.75" rotors up front, nor the larger 11" drums out back.

I'll take that!

Those brands made ok drums but horrible rotors. The rotors would warp or wear really funny. Even the Car Quest/Advanced Auto over the counter poverty rotors are better
