About 2 weeks ago I picked up a 79 Aspen RT in pretty rough shape, in my hopes to get back to the older non electrified cars and away from the Disposable POS they sell now. The Aspen is going to take a lot of work and it was intended to be the Wife's Daily Driver. Another Guy on one of our swap and sell pages up here in this area saw my ad looking for an aspen or volare parts car and asked me if I would be interested in an 86 Dipply as well with some slight damage to it.

Got to talking to him and we agreed on a price. and I will be picking it up hopefully next wednesday. Damage is from a Deer Strike, Runs and Drives, has the 318 in it, Radiator has a leak in it from the deer hit, core support is bent and passenger side headlights and such are toast, along with the Grill, But she looks Damn Good otherwise.

Yeah, in much better shape than the Aspen, the Aspen is going to take a LOT of work on it to make it look good. Getting Running (the Aspen) will be easy, Body work will be a bitch.

Deer hits. My late wife wiped out 2 header panels on her 5th, both within a month. Got to point I had to pull the header off my Dip to put on it. She was under strict orders to not hit any deer with that header on it.

Damn deer.
That is a great platform to start with though. If you're not picky about keeping it Dip you've got lots of header choices.
Dip, Fifth or Gran Fury will all fit.

Looks like there is a header panel in North Dakota. Lots of parts for post 80 Diplomats on Car-part.com, so should be easy to locate, but looks like you are going to have stuff shipped. Maybe a salvage yard near you can get them shipped in cheaper.

Yeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw

86 Dippy is home. Confirmed, she does have a small Radiator leak on the side closes to the engine. PURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRs like a Mountain Lion. Haven't looked at the exhaust yet but she does have a slight rumble to her. Oh she sounds HEALTHY. Whole Front Clip will need to be replaced I am assuming since it looks like it's all once piece. And now I am broke LOL. Filled up the Radiator and took the wife and kids up to the Gas Station a mile away and filled up the tank.

I am now the Proud owner of an A Body, B Body, J, Body and M Body.

Any info you can share on that Header Panel. If it's not too far, I'd be willing to drive to it if the price is right.

Realized I haven't updated this in a while. Radiator is Fixed, Fuel tank is Full and Looking forward to using this as our Daily Driver soon. Just waiting on a Cut up Passenger side Headlight section of the header.

Just Sitting in this thing reminds me of Days Past, of all the 200 dollar cars I was able to buy growing up and almost constantly working on to keep running to get my to my POS Fast Food Job LOL. Each one of these older cars has their Own personality. I LOVE THE OLDER CARS.

That`s because all our old cars have their own personalities not like the newer cookie cutter, all look the same regardless of brand,POSes that you get off the lot now.
