Hey folks. Yeah, I've had a lot going on. New phone that isn't fully set up much like my last phone. 2 kids in college has me less active online. Unfortunately, Eve, my 79 Volare with the Candy burnt orange paint was the victim of circumstances. On my way to cars and coffee on January 28th, a 17 year old girl decided to turn left into Eve. Notice the damage is the driver side corner. The girl stated she never saw the big obnoxious loud orange car. It was also notice the girl wasn't driving very long and here Nissan was only purchased 3 weeks prior to the accident. Like that saying goes, " Sh__ Happens!". No persons got hurt that day, thankfully. That Nissan's cabin was like a snow globe when all the airbags went off. That poor girl was making any movements and I thought the worse. She finally emerged from the Nissan (on the phone with her mom and crying). Crying and walking around was the most important thing at that very moment. Local police were spot on and local garage who flat bedded Eve even drove me home. With the help of Gator's and other friends, Eve is on the mend. She is running and driving strong. Her new name is "Resurrection Eve". Now sport'n a red plastic R/T Aspen grille from a 78 and a pistol grip slap stick (70 Cuda). Appreciate the concern. Really do. I'll be popping in more often

Good to hear that no one got injured, and your Eve is on her way back on the road again.

I'm kind of stealing this thread to ask if anyone heard from BudW lately?
Long time since I've seen any of his insightful posts, and that makes me worried.

You know, if that happened to my Aspen, I might be the one crying and walking around, lol. Like you said though, s**t happens and nobody was hurt. Can only imagine how the poor girl felt.

BudW hasn't posted since June of 2022 it appears.

Thought I was the only one who liked to listen to ABBA, Bee Gee's, etc from time to time, lol. Grew up in the disco era so I suppose that's why.

The other neat adder is that little green button in the center console. That is the audio kill switch to 6800 watts of Mosfet 4 channel with some MP3 and bluetooth interface that I wired into that factory set up. Foghat, Robin Trower, and 70s rock'n tunes get a warm welcome at the car cruises

Just looked at your smashed fender picture and it reminds me of Dirty Mary Crazy Larry with the slotted mag wheels after hitting the pick up truck

I'm not as cool as Peter Fonda. My wife says more like Micky from the Lil Rascals, except Robert Blake is probably taller than me

Sucks about the accident, glad everyone is ok and your car fixable. And it would probably feel even worse if it was an aggressive bad driver rather then a new one like that.

Funny the other day I saw an ad for slotted mags and was really hoping they'd fit my truck.. but they were too small.

I'll call BudW tomorrow and see whats up. He's just north of me and Oklahoma has been getting tornados, rain, wind, snow, ice. Seems to be skipping me mostly.
I do talk to DarthCar (prior owner -- he had to sell DarthCar). He's kicking around but no longer driving ... eye issues.

Billy -- You were looking finer than Robert Blake back then and you definitely look finer than he does now (he died this past week). Glad the Swamp is still in action.

I don't want to talk about height. I lost 1.24 inches in the past 4 years after I blew out two of my discs in my back. Looks like I will never, ever be six foot tall.

The immediate goal is to have the car put back together by April 9th for my town's evening Monday cruise on the 10th. Re-paint sometime later this spring. Eve doesn't give out apples, but she does give out a free Hot Wheels to the neighborhood kids and free water to parents.
