Looks very clean.
Our best kept secret here in the PNW is rust-free sheet metal. Not as dry as AZ or SoCal, but we don't use salt on the roads... might hurt the fishies or something.

It would need a few cans of carpet/vinyl die to cover all the colors in the interior. I'd drive it, I have some American Vector wheels in the basement from 1977 that would look great on it.

Looks like OY with options. Nice wagon. It's had it's grille replaced along the line sometime.

I really like this car (not that I am biased or anything ). I think this would be a great start for someone that wants an F wagon. It is relatively preserved, has some nice options on it, low mileage and looks like very little rust. Too bad it is all the way out in Portland, but then, OY was in Colorado, and that didn't stop me from buying it. I notice in the listing pics that the same weird wear/cracking is in the middle of the seat back just like OY. I believe this was from larger people getting in and out using their right elbow to maneuver into position. But anyway, the bench seats in OY are history and the plaid 60/40's are waiting to go in.

It's my understanding that the original owner of OY was a older hefty gal with a bad cigarette addiction who had already ruined the seat and carpet within only the 27K miles she drove OY. All of the base vinyl seats of this style that I have seen regardless of mileage show the diagonal wear/tearing on the left side, which I think has to do with the particular embossed pattern in the vinyl. I don't like this seat pattern at all and will be glad to get the 60/40's in. These seats not only rip, but the stupid buttons and the sewn on straps always fail and look terrible. They redesigned them in '79 to a much cleaner wider ribbed pattern, but had dropped the "butterscotch" color choice by then.

I've had a 76 Aspen wagon but it's been more than a few years ago and can't remember the interior trim, I do however remember the 1980 wagon that I had it was a very nice burgundy like the outside of the car. It would have been nice if a bucket seat console option for the wagons were offered.

It is a pretty well-preserved example, especially when you figure that these cars were considered appliances when new, unloved in middle age, and are still under appreciated by most people. Let's face it... there weren't a whole lotta dads wiping down their beloved Aspen wagon with an old diaper every Sunday afternoon.

My guess (for OY) would have been a car seat for little Timmy... put dead center so Mom could see/reach the little darling.
