Hello all, I have a 1980 volare and and my steering system has play in it, after some evaluation I've found that the play is in the steering box, I recently replaced it anyway, is there any way to 100 percent get rid of the steering wheel play?

You will never get rid of ALL the play, just reduce it quite a bit. I second Firm Feel. Got the Stage 2 and it's only got a small amount of on center play. It's not rack and pinion but it's about as close as you'll get with a recirculating ball steering gear.

MiradaMike has a non-p/s rack & pinion in his Mirada. But he only races his and its quite modified. They came factory fresh with a given amt of play. It was great for the time, but now with R&P and 4 wheel ind. susp, they feel a little loose even on a good day. If everything else new, a reman firm feel box will be as good as it gets.
