I just finished trenching (using a pick ax) across the drive way about 22 feet.
Wind is gusting over 30 mph.
I'm tired of eating dirt and have come inside.
Only 90 more feet and I'll be done. Maybe tomorrow.

Aussie has back/hip problems now and I've been carrying him down and up the stairs for potty breaks. I grow weary of this healthy chore. Poor guy is really struggling.

Somedays I wonder about my sanity as well.
I guarantee that 51 pounds of dog dead weight up and down the stairs is far heavier than 50 pounds. Seems like 70 pounds when I get to the top of the stairs.

snow ... bleh ... just clouds and wind today... very little sun. Tomorrow we have blue sky and sun (so they say).

What I wouldn't give to see some sunshine. Had another dark, overcast, dreary day. It's really starting to wear on people.
At least our snowpack is (according to TV) down from 25" a week ago to about 9" now. I'd be happy with a zero inch snowpack

Couple weeks ago I'm getting plow escorts, but then the temp has been on the plus side of freezing and rain.
Snow is almost gone, the black bears are waking up and the polar bears are gone.

Only been one report of a polar bear this winter that I know of and it only frightened a couple joggers on the other side of the fence.

Almost Feb, then March, then April and it only gets better.

It's been snowing here since last night but,,,,,,,,,,,the temp is just above freezing so there's little to no accumulation(!)
What I wouldn't do to see the sun shine once again. Honestly not sure if I even remember what the sky looks like when it isn't gray it's been so long.

I was hoping we were past this crap for the year. Alas,,,,,,,,my hopes have been dashed. The sun is out but it's only 6 degrees with a -25 to -40 windchill. It is all sorts of suck outside.

The big rat says 6 weeks until spring, which is somehow better than another 6 weeks of winter.

Currently it is artic type cold with the odd streamer off the lakes

Another arctic outflow for the last couple of days. Snow forecast for tomorrow morning but good news(sic), it is supposed to warm up in the afternoon and turn to freezing rain. Snow mixed with rain forecast for Sat, Sun, and Monday. Yeah!!!!

Was neary 80 yesterday, but today it was 40 mph wind gusts and temp dropped to the mid sixties.
I hate cold weather.

Now THIS is more like it! Sunny, high of 48 and little or no wind today. For the weekend,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,low to mid 50's, sunny, no wind. It's almost like a dream. Still mid 50's early next week but with rain and (believe it or not) chance of t-storms. What???????????????????
Yes, I do know it's still only the middle of February and winter is not over. Almost a guarantee it'll get cold and snow, maybe throw in a couple blizzards at some point for at least the next month or two. For now though, we'll take this weather,,,,no problem

WORST sun storm this year.
Ice roads, outdoor rinks closed.
Don't think the snowmobile and dog trails are doing good.

They are saying Monday is going to be so bad, they are shutting down the city starting tonight.
Stores are running out of bread and milk.
People are throwing babies out of strollers to get their milk.
Extra police are out and will kill you.
It's just insane.

The sun storm continues.
Pretty well everything is shutting down at 6pm and will remain closed until at least Tuesday.
No buses after 11pm.
Police station closes at 10:30.
Zodiacs are on standby for people falling through the ice.
