It's the wind chill, the fact that rain is coming, and the fact that the building has finally lost its stored heat. Our building has always amazed me at how well it can hold heat, but eventually when that stored heat is gone, you have to compensate. We have had night time temps in the 20's so that has taken its share of heat out of the building.

Rain, rain, rain and more rain, rain, rain today. At least it was in the mid 50's. Only supposed to get down to 50 tonight with rain, then mid 50's again tomorrow with rain and then Thursday comes......................High of 33 and a low that night in the upper teens. Son of a brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Appears happy time is over :(

More eff'd up weather. Woke up this morning and my thermometer showed 61 degrees. I'm thinking "yeah right". Stepped out the back door and sure enough! Then the rains came,,,,,,,,,,again. Rained most of the day as the temps slowly dropped. About 3pm it sort of cleared up for a short time and it got even colder. Now it's down to 42 (5:30pm) on the way to high 20's. Heard on the way home tonight, mid 30's for highs tomorrow and windy, gusts to over 40 mph and maybe up to an inch of snow. Yippee-freaking-yahoo. :(

Pretty sure I'm going to fire up the boiler.
Yesterday it was 74F in the house, so why pay for heat?
The heat inside is not going to hold now.
this house is drafty af, we got a high efficiency forced air furnace put in a few years ago to replace the monster octopus looking burner we had before. Heating bills have dropped to less than half, but it doesn't heat it up as evenly, it gets it hot faster, but once it shuts off the drafts blow it all away fast and it takes forever for it to start again. Oh well, could always be worse.

They're talking about anywhere between 3-8 inches of the white stuff here tomorrow. Going to be taking the boys to a local YMCA with an small indoor water park, it's a blast sitting in the hot tub looking out the 4 story wrap around windows at people shivering at the bus stop :)

All we've got here is cold and cold. Started at 17 and made it up to a balmy high of 29. Oddly, the snow is going south of here. They're predicting a bunch for the SE part of the state in the Milwaukee area.
Seems like only a few days ago I was out doing yardwork in short sleeves. Oh that's right, it WAS only a few days ago. Last Sunday with mid-upper 60's and sunshine. Ahhhhh, the memories. lol
