Hi all As you may know I am having issues with my 79 LeBaron. It can cut out for no reason and there is no pattern in the cut-outs. Last time it did it was a week ago when warm and just idling in the garage. However there was one occasion some time ago when it cut out 4 times in a row over a period of 2-3 min every time I put it in Reverse. I have been reading other threads in here to try and get a bit wiser on our cars and then I found this thread where Aspen500 mentions the reverse/neutral safety switch. As I understand it, the car will fail to crank if this switch is bad. But what if the switch is bad/loose and I change from P to R ? Could this trigger a cut-out of the engine ? Or will a bad/loose switch only effect the moment when you start engine ?
