two tone 5th ave.

So I recently painted my fifth avenue two tone but I started really paying attention to the pics of the two tone and it seems the trim that the opera lights are on hang down a bit more on two tone cars. Is that the case or is it an illusion?

No, you're right. From 1985-87 2 tone painted Fifth Avenues had the slightly lower landau, which became the standard landau for the 88 and 89 model years, except the 88 and 89's used the Pentastar/wreath ornaments instead of the the Fifth Avenue Edition badges of the previous model years.
