IN DIRE NEED OF A V8 K-FRAME TO FIT MY 1980 VOLARE STOCKER!
FOUND NON-REPAIRABLE DAMAGE ON MINE.
SEND PICS & PRICING TO 918-855-2064 OR mdevore@vankeppel.com.
THE ONE IN THE CAR IS RUSTED OUT ON WHERE ITS MOUNTED TO THE FRAME.

WHAT OTHER FMJ BODY K-FRAME WILL INTERCHANGE?
I HAVE A LEAD ON A EARLY 80'S V8 DIPLOMAT.
WILL IT WORK?

This should have been placed in the for sale/parts wanted section.

I found a K-frame at a pull-a-part by me (I-40 and MacArthur in Oklahoma City)

Car just entered the yard a week ago. The VIN is "P" (8th digit) for 318 2-bbl.

And a 40% off sale this coming weekend

The K from this '85 Fifth Ave should be 99.5% the same as yours - but not looked at car to know if any rust is present. I will say that M's do fair a lot better against rust than F's do.

I have one but it would probably be a fortune to ship. Where you located? I don`t know the extent of the rust on your frame but in all honesty a skilled welder should be able to make the rusted piece and fix it.

It can be welded, but getting the hole back in same spot can be a bit tricky.

Getting a bit off topic on this. Monday night, I handed a spare K-frame to Mopar Mikes son, just before bad weather hit Oklahoma City.

We chatted some, bench raced a bit and his son decided to head out sense it was lighting like a fireworks show, not far away.

About 45 minutes after he left, one of my trees fell in the same exact location his sons Durango was parked at. I think they said we had sustained wind of over 80 MPH and gusts even faster, not counting the almost 3 inch of rain we got (in about two hours’ time).

The White Oak tree was 80” circumference (25.5” diameter) about a foot off the ground. About 25 foot away, the circumference was 54” (17” diameter) where it hit my pickup. My ’97 Dodge ¾ ton diesel pickup – the L/F fender is sitting about a foot lower than R/F fender is, due to weight of the tree.

The trunk (white arrow) goes underneath the treetop (yellow arrow). Notice the angle of truck vs. the side of garage.
I guess a good thing he took off when he did.

WOW! That's not fair.
Helping out a fellow F-Body guy & this happens.
We went through this earlier this year.
Had 3 trees on my house & 2 down in the front yard.
It's not fun, we have just rebounded from it.
Not good when bad things happen to good people.

Thats great and I didnt see that Bud had bad weather that crushed things, that blows. I also need a K frame bad, I welded over 20 cracks/rips, in the one ive got in a car that was raced from brand new to two years old.

X your going to have to have him put one on a pallet for ya and send it your way. Hell it's only money. :)

I know, its really bothered me for a couple years now but I drive some stuff so little. I will do it some point. I welded it all when I rebuilt the front end maybe 5 years ago and I think ive driven the car maybe 15 miles.

Mine is out of the car now and I will be sandblasting and welding as needed. I'm going with a front plate type of mount and get some of the load off the K frame.
