Windshield trim removal, 1980 Volare

Howdy all.

I was hoping someone could give me some pointers on where to start when removing the chrome windshield trim on my volare. The bottom passenger side trim is pulled away from the windshield due to a ding in it and it presents as a pretty good water leak to the cockpit.

What's the "right" way to remove this trim to explore the molding along the bottom of the windshield?

You'll want one of these:

Pretty self explanatory. The hooks hook into the trim clips and pry them away from the moldings. You can get one at NAPA, Carquest, your local paint and body supply store, etc.

Only care taken with that tool is make sure you don't pry against the windshield...you will break it if you do.

I have the one that Jim has. Works on alot of previous years cars also.
