76 and fellow FFMJBO dudes;

If I catch this right. Are you saying non gloss below the blue lines and gloss above for the engine bay?

I can't see why there would be a problem with the whole engine compartment in gloss,
unless the clear coat doesnt stand up to the heat of the engine.

Nice Job 76! do you have pics of after the engine was back in?

Move your blue lines up to the bottom edge of where the fenders bolt on on your pics....

See my red line....

Mine is all gloss I did the whole thing shiny..but if you gotta do yours in stages I would paint to that red line that way when you are done there will be no paint line.

Gotcha.

Another thing is those color stripes/decals that came with the T-4 paint color appear non-exsistant. Cant find them anywhere. That may drive what color I paint. PG only has two types Red/Orange and Black/White. Out of those, the black and white are the ones that intrest me.

They are indeed non existant. They told me at PG they would make a set in that color though if I sent them a sample, and I have an extra set of those stripes that is NOS, well almost a set. I talked to them earlier in the year and shit came up and I never sent them.

If you want we can maybe get together on this and get em to make a couple sets? I have samples I can send em. I would definately paint it back to factory everyone goes nuts over the colors on mine...

Sounds like a plan. I like the T-4 color and dont want to be forced to change it because of no strips...lol.

Let me know what I would need to do.

Mine are a special color of silver and red. If you talk to the right person and spend an extra 80 bucks they will make them for you.

I think you're confused about gloss, no gloss. Do you mean straight gloss urethane vs base coat clear coat? I don't think you want gloss and matte finish do you?

Now that I stayed with the single stage I taped my lines way up top near the lip of the finder and the cowl. That being said if I repaint the outside with single stage a little sanding with some 2000 grit will blend in the tape line just great.

After a near two year break due to a serious case of burnout, back to work. Luckily I bagged and labelled stuff. Everything was left exactly where it was in 2012.

Thanks for this advice btw. After all the drive train and conversion work on the 5.0L Mustang, I was seriously burned out.

Yes for sure paint and detail EVERYTHING you can now no matter how tired and wore out you are. If you feel the urge to cut corners, shut the lights off and go in the house until you are back on track.

Slowly getting back in action. Tools on, under, and around the car were as they were left in 2012. :) Thank god I bagged and labelled stuff.

Monday was blown having to solder in a new headlight switch pigtail on the Ram.:angry7:

Still need to remove the brake booster before any prep work begins in the engine compartment.

Stuff inbound;
SEM paint/prep for the interior pieces.
ACC 4 spd carpet.
Eastwood undercoating
Firm Feel Tubular Upper Control Arms
Schumacher engine and trans mount.
New ECU pig tail.

Did some painting of suspension parts with VHT epoxy all weather.

Still need to get the sway bar cleaned and powder coated.
Same for the Batt tray from 10secRR.

Flipping brake booster was a pain. Pulled the wiring harness through the firewall.

I will be working on pressure washing and degreasing the bay.

OK (Never done this before)

Can I get away with priming over the current paint?
What prep work?
If so what Primer?

What type of single stage paint?
Where can I get the paint loaded?
