Does anyone know the driveshaft length for a wagon with a 904 and 8 1/4" rear?

I have a 51 1/4" driveshaft and trying to determine if that's the correct length for a wagon with 904 and 8 3/4" rear end.

Switching from an 8 1/4" rear to an 8 3/4" would require a .66" shorter driveshaft.

I did the 8 1/4 swap and I'm running a 52 3/4" driveshaft. I have a 4dr Diplomat and the driveshaft is out of a Volare

51 1/4" would be too short I would think

A lot of people don't have to shorten it between 8 1/14 and 8 3/4. It's not much of a difference.

It came in a wagon I bought with a 904 & 8.75. I don't think I modified it because I made a new, aftermarket driveshaft. Car had the front mount SS spring extensions which shouldn't move the rear.

All applications have a min./max. length. Just trying to confirm the #'s to which application range this fits into.....or if it will be a good driveshaft to shorten for a different application.

Did the same thing with my 77 2 door LeBaron. 52... is for 8 1/4, 53... for 7 1/4, all 904 trans. Shorter ones for 727 trans.
