Took my 78 Volare wagon off the street and dedicated it to being a true footbrake car to use at some big money footbrake races and at another local track that wont let me run my dart because of the 2 step/transbrake.

Best in street/strip trim was low 7.30's in the 1/8th mile. Last week, took the exhaust off, installed electric fan and water pump, run a fuel return line, installed alky fuel pump and regulator, mounted switches, and put on an E85 carb.

Went to test Friday night, and ran five 7.13's in a row over a 2 hour period.

Took it to the bracket race the next day, and won in the no box class.

It was nice to win with it in its first race. Posted a few pics from Saturday, and a video from Friday night.

Thanks for looking.

wheels up wagon. reminds me of my wagon I sold last year.

I see you have caltracs. it looks like you have your bar in the top hole? do you have preload or a small gap? what is your 60'?

on the wagon I have one flat of preload on the right side, and zero preload on the left. the bar just barely touches the top of the left spring. once the driver weight is added to the car, the left side then preloads.

On my transbrake 71 dart, I have an air gap the thickness of a nickel on both sides, and have the shock extension tightened up to 8 clicks out of a possible 12 clicks.

the wagon has a 1.55 sixty ft, and runs a little over 95mph

I love it. for the longest time I thought Aspens and Volares only were wagons. And the ones I would see at the track were quick. Always gave me a chuckle....now that I own a Volare I know better....Sweet wagon congrats!!! 7.13!!! 1/8th three times in a row good drivin!!!
