The end of a Gran Fury...

Nothing like the old pics of wreckers to make one sad.

But the few M's I took to the wreckers were super stripped right down to taking the flat hood and roof sheet metal for other projects.
Free flat steel.

Yeah. I get that some are too far gone but it really bothers me how many I've seen get mashed that either weren't that bad or hadn't been stripped.

I've already mentioned it before but there were two Fifth Aves at a local boneyard. I never see M's around here. One had some descent metal and the other one was sponge toffee but they both had nice interiors, trim, etc. I asked the guy to hold off and I'd come back the next day and strip them and pay for what I took. I would have done it then but they were closing. He said no problem. Went back the next morning and there were two Chrysler pancakes sitting there. I was suitably pissed.

I cant even find anyone driving one local much less finding them in boneyards.

About 18 months ago, I saw a grey/red 5A for sale for $6500, 25K miles all original one owner everything worked even a/c always used 100% petrol beautiful car. I really wanted it but could not afford because I was between jobs. Saw it driving around for about a week for sale. I just happened to be driving towards an accident and saw that mint car crumpled into nothing sandwiched between an 18 wheeler and a Silverado. the big rig didn't stop in time and pushed the 5A into the Silverado. Total loss. It was a real shame.
