Already been done... '80-'81 LeBaron. All I'd really have needed was the grille since I already had the headlamp bezels. :icon_biggrin: Besides, I've always felt the back end of the Fifth had a huge failing: the perfect spot for the license plate has that filler panel in it, leaving the license plate & guards/lamp housings a big wart on the rear bumper. I liked the '80-'81 setup better. Pontiac screwed up the '79 Firebird in the same way. I prefer the purity of line the original designs had, though the '74 Firebird taillights were a huge improvement over the '70-'73 cars. But, I digress... Remove filler, move plate. It suddenly looks like a Diplomat, which is why I imagine they did it--for model differentiation.
