Dammit, now I want to get on my other PC and see this "test"
Poly,
There is a difference between malware and adware and tracking.
You know when you type in a product in the search engine or you get ads and pop ups tailored to you, most of that is the amazon servers through amazon, so I block all that because ive on "normal" pc and the first two pages of a search as just bs links.
The Ubuntu fans got upset because a couple years ago they allowed amazon in to track and push products although im not sure if you still can but you can disable it.
Flippin facebook is integrated into so so much and is a bit harder to block out but you can and you can block twitter too.
Remember the company who used to track what people watched on tv? They have been doing it with web content forever. But you can block them too.

If you use firefox, use lightbeam to get an idea of things linked together, you can block it then, but then I block them in my router before the even get to my pc.
As well if you not using to the free version of open dns is pretty good and lets you block the things you want to.
