    Fuel Sender Sock.

With the sock touching the bottom of the tank (and the metal tube at least 2" from the bottom), and approximately 1.5 Gal added to the empty tank, the fuel pump was getting gas. I only drove about a 1/2 mile for gas. So It seems my Sock will wick fuel if part of it is touching the fuel.

    Fuel Sender Sock.

The sock is touching the bottom, the metal tube is about 2 1/2" to 3". with an empty tank, I added 1 1/2 Gal, as soon as I get my gauges back into the dashboard I will see if it sucks any Gas. I was hoping to add gas a gallon at a time and see what the gas gauge is reading.

    Fuel Sender Sock.

So if any part of the sock is in gas you might not actually get gas. This means I need to drop the tank again to get the end of the tube all the way to the bottom. I was hoping to avoid the tank drop proceedure awhile.

    Fuel Sender Sock.

On a Fuel sock, if it is pointing down at a 45 degree angle, will it suck gas at the bottom of the tank as the sock is exposed to No gas, but the end on the sock is still submerged in gas? or will it stop sucking gas as soon as the level reaches the bottom of the metal tube portion? Inquiring...

    TorsionBar End Bushings

I had it aligned and it runs true and straight. The Alignment guy said he has seen a few Poly Pivot Bushing that did squish and leave a gap. He explained how the Torsion bar has a lot of weight on it from the twisting action and does not feel the pivot bushing will have any movement and the...

    TorsionBar End Bushings

Thank you Camtron. I feel better knowing that it will not affect my alignment. I have another non related question related to torsion bushing replacements. When adjusting ride height, the closest I can get is about 1/4" from Left to right sides measured at the crossmember cushion bolt head to...

    TorsionBar End Bushings

On My install, the end bushing #1102 was not on the fun category for the install. The #1100 pivot bushing was easier, but I had some issues. There is a small gap at the bottom of the bushing. I talked to Johnny at Polybushings, he suggested to add a 1/8' plate above the bushing. I did but it...

The trouble with the FF Torsion bars...

Valare 1977, thank you for taking the time to respond, I sure was hoping that there is/was a resolution. I hope one of the others that has been posting about bushings will respond as well. I'm looking forward to it, I have an alignment appointment next week and was hoping to be all squared away...

The trouble with the FF Torsion bars...

I hate to resurrect an Old Thread. I replaced the End bushings, and Pivot bushings, (Polybushings.com) after a few miles of testing, I noticed a gap in the pivot bushing. Its like the flat portions was all squished down. With all tension released from the Torsion bars, they returned to normal...

    TorsionBar End Bushings

I talked to Johnny at PolyBushings and he advised to cut with a Hack saw Long ways, then make sure the split is not pointing Up or Down, point it to the side. PolyBushings is Very good at helping out! During Reassembly I discovered how important it is to clock the Torsion bar adjustment. You end...

    TorsionBar End Bushings

I drilled and split my metal casings, cleaned off the old rubber with a small wire wheel. I did not drill and remove the end from the Torsion bar. The PolyBushings showed up today and I'm stumped on an item and I'm hoping someone can guide me. The #1102 round bushing is Not split. The end cap...

    TorsionBar End Bushings

I am in process of obtaining polybushings #1100 and #1102 I dont understand and hope someone can help me, I've read so many posts recently about the troubles getting the rivet drilled and pressing off the end bushing. Is there any problems you can point out to me if I remove the torsion bar...

    Alternator Bearing replacement question

Vaanth, Thank you very much for that lesson. This is exactly what I was hoping for. This should be part of a "How To" article. I have a Service manual that is not this good. It assumes you have all the Chrysler tools and jigs.

    AC Leak detection

After digging in a bit, I found it was the AC Gauges that caused the leak. I used one can of 134A to pressurize the system, then sprayed a dishwashing solution on the fittings and found that the High side quick release And the yellow line at the gauge was bubbling a leak. The interesting thing...

    AC Leak detection

I have a slow leak in my AC. (Not factory, This is a Vintage Air System). A visual check looks all good, no oil residuals I could find. Since I could not find any potential leak points anywhere, I replaced the O-Rings in every connection I could physically get to. I then pulled a vacuum for 30...

    Sensitive Steering

I was looking at Rockauto to get an idea of what a power steering pump would cost. I was truly surprised at how many different pumps that they have. How can I actually tell which pump that I have? I was told by a friend that even the Saginal Pumps from a Truck would work. Is that true? they do...

    Sensitive Steering

Volare1977, Yes the front end is in good shape, I had it aligned a year ago. I do have the front dropped lower than normal. I googled the Saginaw pump, it looks like to add the kit I would remove the High Pressure line from the back side and then remove the Nut where the line was attached. When...

    Sensitive Steering

the steering is too sensitive. At 50-60 MPH a sneeze could be dangerous. it responds very quickly to any actions. It is manageable but I'm interested if I have any options. There is no play in the linkages. Stiffer as volare1977 suggests is worth looking into. I did put an Autozone rebuilt...

    "Chrysler Distributor Bushing Installer Tool"

From my limited knowledge only the DuraBond AD-584 does not need Burnished. All others do. I talked to the Local dealer mechanic, and he said he recommended they all be burnished, or the surface may prematurely wear the intermediate shaft. The only Installer tools I am aware of is the SPX...
