Did any Aspen or Volare ever come with a tilt steering wheel ?

I am working on using a tilt column from a 76 Cordoba in my 70 Charger. I'm tempted to go pull a tilt from an 87 Fifth Avenue for use in another 70 Charger.

Did any Aspen or Volare ever come with a tilt steering wheel ?

Thank you. Maybe it was just to reduce noise and vibrations. It is odd that the A and E bodies didn't get this change. Maybe they figured that they were getting phased out, why bother?

Did any Aspen or Volare ever come with a tilt steering wheel ?

I went out to that junkyard and found the Volare. It did not have a tilt steering column. I did notice that it did have the same style rag joint that my tilt column has. Now I'm curious as to why. Was this some noise reduction measure used on all RWD Chryslers (other than A bodies) from the mid...

Did any Aspen or Volare ever come with a tilt steering wheel ?

The tilt columns that I have seen all use GM/Saginaw units that use a two piece steering shaft. They had a rag joint near the firewall. The shaft that attaches to the steering box itself is a bit of a hybrid. The Mopars used the pot coupler to allow for some misalignment as well as having...

Did any Aspen or Volare ever come with a tilt steering wheel ?

There is a Volare in a Junkyard in Sacramento according to their online inventory. I'm putting a tilt steering column in a '70 Charger and am looking for parts to complete the swap. Thanks!

Question about truck 8 3/4 rear

There are a few. The 4wd trucks often had axle shafts with the 5 on 5 1/2" bolt circle. The leaf spring mounts are on top of the housing, not the bottom. Some 3rd members were not drilled for a pinion snubber.

I go in for tire repair and the man asks about my windshield wipers.

My topics on these forums are not the usual ones like: *What is a good cam for my 440? *What oil should I use? *Why did Mopars have ballast resistors?

I go in for tire repair and the man asks about my windshield wipers.

I've seen those air blowing fans that fit where a 6 x 9 speaker usually does, sometimes even in between the speakers....to me that would be a "defogger" but we often have different terms for the same thing. I've seen those in B and C body cars. Here are the panels in 2 of my '70 Chargers...

I have never seen any A body with anything but a fan motor in the rear speaker deck. Never the one embedded in the glass that gets heated. I'm not far from Reno and Tahoe where they do get snow. Not every car that ends up here started here either.

That was a lot to copy and paste. Maybe since I'm on the other end of the country, our standards were different. I find it strange though that they could mandate something that may not have been available on some cars. Have you seen a 74-76 Dart or Valiant with a rear window defroster?

I go in for tire repair and the man asks about my windshield wipers.

I find that impossible to believe. Not every car built from 1974 onward had a rear window defroster. I know of NO Dart/Valiant/Duster that had them, my 76 Camaro didn't, the numerous other Camaro and Firebirds didn't, no truck ever did either.

Is this something new? I know that the Bureau of Automotive Repair places weird restrictions and practices on repair shops. Several years ago, I read they required all shops to do a tire pressure check even if they were in for something completely UNrelated to the tires. Is that happening here...

Jumper cables? Nah...there is a better way now.

This guy I know buys condoms at Harbor Freight and is shocked each time his wife announces a new kid is on the way. They are not all bad. Some of their stuff works well but for something more complicated like this, I'd skip their products. Cheap wrenches. cutoff discs, paint guns, bungee cords...

Jumper cables? Nah...there is a better way now.

I decided to give this one a try: Here we go. This is compact enough to sit almost anywhere and not weigh 50 lbs. Looks simple. If all fails, there are directions. Charging port on one end, jumper cable ports on the other. Common electrical ports. Simple charger unit. It was...

Jumper cables? Nah...there is a better way now.

Thanks, guys. I will never live or vacation anywhere that gets near zero. I don't like the cold and see absolutely zero reason to be where it is like that. I like warm weather. I can tolerate 120 degrees as long as I have some shade and water. It gets below 40 and my mood goes into the toilet. I...

Jumper cables? Nah...there is a better way now.

I readily admit that I am not the type to be at the cutting edge of anything. I stick with what I like, what works for me. I am always resistant to new things unless they prove to be superior to what I've used before. I used to use one of those "Slap Chop" manual food processors until I tried...

Jumper cables? Nah...there is a better way now.

I read on Mopar Action awhile back about these new battery jumper boxes: These are interesting. I like the idea of having something lightweight and compact to bring with any vehicle I'm taking on road trips. No need to get help from someone else for a jump start if you accidently leave...

NOT MINE: 1980 Cordoba at Pick-N-Pull in Northern CA

I saw this complete car at the Pick-N-Pull in Rocklin, CA. 1980 Chrysler Cordoba. Ever see this engine code? E 46? Yeah. 318 4 barrel. Not a lean burn but it did have some weird spark control system with no vacuum advance. Someone screwed up. They rarely leave batteries...
