WANTED 1980 VOLARE BUMPER SHOCKS

ANYONE HAVE A PAIR FOR THE REAR?
CAN SOMEONE TELL ME IF THE ARE THE SAME AS THE ONES ON A 5th AVENUE.
THE FRONT & REAR BUMPERS LOOK LIKE THEY ARE THE SAME AS THE 5th.

MY SON WAS COMING BACK FROM HOUSTON LAST WEEKEND & NON-INSURED DRIVER RAN INTO THE BACK OF OUR STOCKER.

ALSO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN THE FRONT BUMPER APRON.

Rear bumper shocks M-Body 80-89 are the same as 80 F-Body.Fronts are different.Bumper fillers are hard to find,1 year only F-body part,M-body is different.

Kinda thought the bumper filler might be hard to find. I'm going to try & save mine.
 
Are the bumper absorbers stamped steel or a gas strut that is collapsed?

If it's a gas strut you can push them back out with a port a power or pull them with a big slide hammer. I like doing it with the bumper on the car because if one comes out the other usually follows. I will add that sometimes just unbolting the bumper will take stress off the shocks and they will come out on there own.

They look like a gas strut.
I think the fronts will pull out, but the rears are bent downward & will need replaced.
 
Thats good news,Tha rears are much easier find.
 
I wouldn't want to have to find a pair of the bumper fillers for an '80!! I think they were one year only, unless the M body is the same. I had a hard time finding a nice one for OY which is a '78, and the type that rides up on top of the bumper. I think all '76/'77's were underneath, '78/'79's were on top but shorter, and '80 was on top but longer to compensate for the different type bumper. The one on OY originally had a small piece missing from one corner, and I was lucky to get a perfect one off this yellow parts car I bought in Virginia.

It was an oversight not to take the bumper shocks from it although I did take the front bumper (the rear bumper was rusted). If I would have had the time and room, I would have taken the hood which was very nice, and also the rear axle. Front fenders were rusted, but doors and hatch are nice and are stored in my garage "just in case". Took the seats, but shouldn't have, wound up getting rid of them. Windshield was cracked. This is the car I got my power steering setup from. It was a fun road trip!

The bumper shocks aren't gas struts, they're mechanical. Kind of a piston in a cylinder with rubber around them (sort of). Anyways, they can be extended back out except it takes a bleep load of force to do it.

I was trying to find a break down on how they worked.
Both rear ones are toast.
The front left looks stuck in just a little.
 
Bought a good running parts car.
Looking to part it out.
66K on miles, 225 / 904.
I will be keeping the hood, grille both bumper covers & bumpers.
