Is anyone reproducing them? I am looking for my Uncle, he restored the car a few years back. The car looks great except for the rear fender extensions and the piece above the rear bumper, they are disintegrating.

They got Mirada and Cordoba 80 to 83.
Keep in mind Mirada and Cordoba do not interchange.
VFN Fiberglass has Mirada one piece left/center/right extensions that include the bumper. But VFN is thin race quality fiberglass.

I've heard the fit isn't great, but if you take your time and do a little reworking then they're okay.

Anyone else have an opinion on these?

    Thanks for the responses.

So they might fit good with a little reworking. But are they the only one reproducing them?

I would ask them for a picture of one...before laying any cash down...it would be neat if they could show you a set installed on a car...alot of companies these days don't provide pictures...if they did they would probably sell more parts...M2C

Just got a response back. This is what he said:

"We woild not have any reason to have the pictures you asked for-we do not
own such a vehicle, nor do we do installation here.
    Thanks,
    Ed "

I'm curious now how they make these parts. They needed to make a mold somehow, wouldn't you do that from a set of originals? I also asked for pictures of the parts by themselves and they don't have those available either?

MiradaMegacab is correct they don't know what customer service is.

hahaha. I have a set and they suck. They need a lot of work before they can be used. He did use an original factory set to make his but I don't think they were very good to start with. This is the only guy that does it though so its him or throw down a couple of hundred for a mint set on eBay that will just fall apart in 3 years. If you go for a used set wait for white ones because that color held up much better against the sun for obvious reasons. Also Chrysler used two types of plastic for them. A yellowish color and a gray color. One holds up a little better than the other but now I can't remember which. Amazingly my white t-top Mirada has a perfect set that are still nice and soft and crack free even though the cars has 90k miles on it.

    Ebay has pics.
I bought a set from Replica Plastics years ago for a Mirada. Upon receiving the package I notice Chrysler on the bill of sale. And guess what.... I got a set for a Cordoba. I called Replica Plastics and the "guy" on the phone tells me that the Cordoba and Mirada is the same thing. They didnt make Mirada extensions at that time. And they flat out refused to refund my money. After getting my credit card company involved, I got a total refund, including shipping and handling. The "guy" from Replica Plastics said its not his fault as the book he has states that Mirada and Cordoba parts interchange. Then he called me an idiot for ordering them!! Thats real great customer service!!

Anyhow try www.BradsNOSparts.com for Cordoba extensions.

This is true. Even NOS upper door sill mouldings crack just sitting in the box. The plastic dries out and they warp. Nothing like having NOS parts that are broken right out of the box.

I emailed Brads NOS parts and he didn't have any. Order them from replica plastics, we will see how well they fit when they get here.

Well the ones from replica plastics came in today. They look like they are cheaply made. It looks like they have a gel coat then one layer of fiber glass and that is it. I can hold them up to the light and the light will shine through. Plus one has a crack in it, probably from shipping they are brittle.

We will see how well they fit tomorrow. I will probably be adding some layers of fiberglass in some areas.

$80 a piece. My Uncle has been looking for a while and haven't found anyone else making them. What I am going to do is modify and trim these to fit. Then make a mold from them and make my own.

Do they have to be flexable or could they be rigid like aluminum? post some pics of them for our benefit to.

They don't have to be flexible. I don't think the stock plastic ones were that flexible. How would you make it out of aluminum?
