I'm glad I wasn't around in the 70s. Now I get to imagine it was all concerned looking dudes in leather jackets named "Tanner" racing to the drop.

I remember looking at one brand spanking new, it looked plush and ridiculous with all the colors , at least that's how I remember thinking about it as a twenty year old.

I ave a 76 roadrunner orange, it needs a repaint, but I personally do not care for all those stripes. I admit I am not a fancy person. I bet when I paint it, I will try to get get the black stripe with the roadrunner spelled out and leave off th rest of those stripes/

I remember a few 76/77 RRs that had just the minimal small birds on them and no stripes at all, I liked that.
