Just wanted to share some pictures and thoughts about the 2019 season. Only made it to two races but it's two more than 2018. Overall I was pleased with the performance of the car. Of course there's lots of room for improvement. On the first outing over the 4th of July weekend in Indianapolis let me say that the weather conditions were downright Hot! Temperature was in the low 90's and DA was hovering around 4000 feet. Best run for the weekend was 12.82 on the 13.00 index for N/SA. Not exactly earth shattering performance but did manage to make the 128 car field out of 131 stockers. 125th if memory serves me right. Anyway after a few delays on Saturday I saved my worst light for 1st round and was put on the trailer. Rats! Couldn't make 2 races that were on my calendar after that but did finally go to the Jeg's Sports Nationals at National Trail Raceway outside Columbus Ohio. My old stompin grounds where I first started bracket racing in 1974. My mom, brother and sister still live in the central Ohio area so it was also a family visit as well. Much better weather and the car went 12.68 on the first qualifying pass. Best run of the season. Class eliminations were run at this race on Saturday and I red lit in the 1st round. There were 4 N/SA cars and I was the slowest so I took a swing at the tree. Not to worry though as we still had the regular handicap dial in race on Sunday. Well...another sleepy light as I went .01 under my dial and my opponent was .02 over. Had a good time and will be back for 2020! Ended up talking to some old friends and made a few new ones. The drag racing community is the best!

That car is sharp! Slotted mags fit it well.

Yes I think you can get them from 15x6 through 15x10. My rear wheels are 15x9. Fronts are 15x3.5 Fentons. I have seen after market front runners but not sure where to get them from. They have a little bit of a "dish" though. Guessing they are 15x4 or 4.5"

    Good looking car for sure.
Hope you get more runs in 2020.
You running the low HP 318-4 combo?
We run a big cam 360 in our Volare in "I" class.
Just bought a 1980 Aspen wagon & was thinking about running a 318-4 in L or M class.

Thanks Mike. Yes using "308" heads with the small valves. I'm determined to run at least 6 races next year with the Aspen. I have a 63 max wedge Plymouth also and want to run it at a couple of nostalgia races as well. I saw your 80 wagon and love it! Did you get it from Philip Marvetz? Looked like a great bargain when I saw it for sale. Very cool!

I bought a new pair of 576 castings that is going to replace the 308's that are on the Volare.
Probably use them as is, with the big valves on a 318 for the wagon.
Yes, bought the wagon from Phillip.
Took a 4400 mile round trip to get it.
Got to see some nice country with my wife.
I bet the '63 is a cool car for sure.

Remember seeing the wagon for sale a while back. Wanted to buy it but can't take on any more projects. Look forward to some updates and pictures about your cars. Here's a couple of pictures of the 63. IMG_0816.JPG IMG_1155.JPG IMG_0803.JPG IMG_0816.JPG

    Nice '63.
Back in my teen years, the late 70's, I had a chance to buy a '63 Plymouth.
Had a big block in it, and some odd looking cast iron manifolds in the trunk.
    Well, I passed on it (400.00) & Bought '69 340 Dart Swinger.
Looking back, it was probably a Super Stock car.
Man, I wish I could go back.
