Hello,

I am trying to find myself an 8.25" close to SC, (thats where I can get shipping from) a guy in the USA has a 8.25" out of a 1977 Volare Station Wagon, he doesn't know the ratio but he said it was from a car with an overdrive trans, does that give any clue to what ratio axle it is?

Thanks
Bruce

this is what he said "8 1/4 is a stock non-posi unit from a 1977 Volare station wagon. Unsure of gear ratio. It was a 4 speed overdrive V8 car."

could be 3.21, 2.94, or 2.75, I don't believe they use 2.4 or 2.2 gears in wagons, but I could be wrong. I would say go for it.

here it is

If you haven't bought it yet check out this guy
stu Maguire tel:518-695-3545. I used to buy M body police car parts from him years ago. Don't know if he still has any in his yard but it's worth a try. tell him Ron with the blue Córdoba sent you.

Hope so! The engine is getting the XXX714 heads, sum 6900 cam, 4bbl intake and carb with some summit headers along with the 3.23 rear so hopefully will double the HP of stock and then make it boogie with the 3.21 rear end, time will tell :)

The wagon axle ratio is probably 2.94 but maybe, just maybe 3.21 .

Wagons are heavy-probably 2.94 if it was a V8, probably 3.21 if slant 6 225 cubic inch.
