8 3/4 specs

Ok looks like i will need the spider gears and side gears....

Who has them??
Everything getting a bath . lol

I pulled it out of a truck/van rearend that had been sitting with a few other rear ends that are out in the open.....

I have them soaking right now and but on initial inspection they are pitted..... I will take a better look after cleaning them....
 
Okay here's both cones and both cone housings ...... I'm not seeing any marks were they bottomed..... should I go ahead and do the Machining and spacer kit since I've got it this far down????

And I'm still not 100% sure what part I supposed to machine, looks like the bottom side of the cones... ?? ...

Is it the raised up part???? And we need to keep the step in there one machine in arcade to be machined flat with no step???

Well evidently spider and side gears are not available as replacement parts......

As this is not a daily Driver and will not be driven in the rain at all, I think I am going to just put a spool in it. ...
 
I mailed a set of side and spider gears to FABO member 63spf, for free. I didn’t even charge him SH....
PM him see if he still has them available.
I believe he didn’t use them.
If you’re not a FABO member, I can PM him.
 
No I'm not a member over there, although I may sign up cuz I've got an a body 8.75 rear end I'm going to put up for sale here before too much longer I think......

And thanks for the offer, but I'm really seriously thinking about the spool.

Dr Diff has a lightweight spool for $100 , that's about what I would have in that cone style Sure Grip by the time I have it machined and pay for the shim kit I would imagine
 
Ooo, an B 8¾". I was looking at one and might have committed to it (depending on his response), just an hour earlier.
 
Back on the diff after being put on hold....

What do you think???? Looks good???? I have to pull a little backlash out.... maybe, 0.002 to 0.004 to much.....

Parts wish list.... .5 oz yellow paint pen........ reality..... Dave snagged a 5 gallon bucket of yellow line paint from the hwy. dpt. 12 years ago and still has 4.8 gallons left. :)

Id almost split the difference between the two pics, but if the pattern is right and it feels right, run it.
