I ended up with those alloy rocker covers on a few of my cars just to stop them from leaking oil. I am about to do another one. They warp and ooze and I am just going to put a set of M/T covers on and be done with it. Yours look good. Like the headers too

While I was in there I pulled the damper and repainted it, since the paint was flaking off.

"While I was in there", "while I'm at it, might as well". Man do I know those phrases! Next thing you know, you've got the car torn down to a bare shell, lol.

That's how we got here. While I'm at it ...21 years later it was finally moving under its own power again.

Next up is finding the right belts since the AC compressor sits different than originally planned.

I don't feel so bad now. Mine only took 10 years :) Actually it took 16 years since it sat in the garage with a fried trans from 1996 until I got time to finally start on it the winter of 2002. Drove under it's own power again in late 2012. Can't say it was done in 2012 because we all know, a car is never "done".

Every single thing you improve makes you look at other things and they look inferior to you. That's how the human mind works. All we do is make better stuff. From 1950-2020 we made more improvements to every last thing you can think of compared to 1880-1950. Bees have been doing the same exact thing for millions of years. They still make honey and protect the queen. They haven't changed their business model one bit. We are designing the technology that will replace us. You get something in your hands, you look at it and all you can think of is how you need to make it better. That's how a $1500 car goes to $45,000
