A and F body trans crossember swap?

I’m wondering if the A body 4-speed crossmember can be swapped with the F-body crossmember. Anyone know if they are the same or similar?

F body has 1 hole on either side A body has 2 holes on either side and they are not the same size, never tried bolting one in though because i have never needed to.

it would be maybe 1/2 lb lighter looseing those 2 holes lol

I'm asking because over on the A Bodies forum, a gent has fabricated brackets and a cross member to mount a Viper T56 into the A. Looks like it could work for my F (with a bit of tweaking).

Gotcha. Modifying the F piece seems do-able.
Here's a couple pics, I dug these out this morning.

Thanks Jim. Looks like I’d have to re-drill the holes to make it work. The gent on the A bodies forum has T56 brackets and crossmember for sale. About $800. Lot of cash though.

I guess American Powertrain has just the trans crossmember for $200.
