Aspen/Volare woes...rust never sleeps

These comparisons to Cadillac were because Chrysler saw the Aspen and Volaré as being luxury cars. Chrysler touted power windows, power locks, power seats, power sunroof, power brakes, and a four-speed automatic transmission, among other options. As far as the powertrain went, there really wasn’t anything new.

Does AI write this shit?

Since you brought it up. Its AI and worse. AI crawlers to scrape the info and then this "Author" has thousands of bullshit clickbait vids full of bad info that fools soak up.

So here is your Author..... Sorry if this offends anyone here but any transgender members here can easily state there case but this thing was not even around these cars when young and probably never even been near one and I for one cant take anything serious from one who does not even know what the hell they are since there are only two genders and then freaks like this some place in between.

Go figure.....Aerosmith nailed it on this one.... Dude looks like a lady and a fugly freak one at that.

Going past that the copyright laws of 1976 need revamped because AI has scanned and scraped the whole web and can pretty much use anyones work if used in the context of the CR laws of 76 which has too many exclusions.

Ya just cant make this stuff up.

I don't care what somebody is as long as that person turns wrenches and doesn't create any static.

After a quick search, I think this person fails both of those tests though.

And so no one feels left out. Send me back to the 70s/80s any day... the world was a much better place.

Sad part is, us humans made the internet what it is today. People suck.

People do suck.

There are many things I like about my Diplomat. One of them is that I can throw together the whole car with parts from the 60s to the 90s.

One day maybe I'll post a build thread. I keep a list of all the models and years I've gotten parts off of. It's pretty hilarious

Here is why I take such exception to some of this. Us older guys know the real truth about our F-s because we lived it. Yep, some had there issues and so did most cars of that time period. Hell everything rusted out and still does in the rust belt.

For the other. The Autopain puts out garbage. And they knowingly hired a political trans activist, not sure why but one does not have to look to far.

Ive had F body cars since before I had my son so yea it does put me in "Get off my lawn mode" and worth putting a foot in ones ass if needed.

The Autopain is proof everything woke turns to shit. Hire a political trans activist who at one time was a fine looking young man that now somehow thinks the woolly mammoth/chiseled teeth, look is cool.

Sorry to anyone I might have offended by my posting here and sorry Martin for getting in your posting. You sell great parts, always have.

Back to my own yard.

I say let the public keep thinking FMJs are worthless. Keep the prices low for us!
yeah and less competition in the junkyards.

At the same time, people are starting to believe that anything mopar = money, and they want ridiculous prices for junk 318s and 360s.

The Fbody rusted so fast that they came with their own salt shakers. They rusted every where, I’ve always been surprised by where you find the rust.

The myth that mopar F-bodies rust out faster than everything else is just that, a myth. My 1980 Aspen is the least rusty mopar I own, in fact, it sat outside under the trees its whole life and I had the carpet up the other day cleaning it and the original paint is still on the floor, barely even any surface rust. Same way on the frame rails. It is true the early cars had rusting issues, but so did literally every other car manufacfurer at the time, and it seems rust prevention dramatically improved starting in 1979 or so. It's the same story with GM F-bodies. Trans Ams and Camaros from the 70s didn't fare well, I have 5 of them and every single one has the quarters flapping in the breeze and hardly any floors left. But my 1980 Trans Am is in pretty decent shape.

By 1980 Chrysler had a better handle on the rust but 76 and 77 you could wash the damn things and watch the rust blisters appear.

That dont fly either, none of my 3 76s have any frame or floor pan or trunk pan replaced or repaired and two have the org. front fenders. Oddly about 1/2 of the kit cars and super coupes I have info on have frame rail problems and most got pampered.

You seen even my 76 parts car had perfect frame rails and floor pans/trunk that looked new.

Clearly a geographical thing more then not.

If others brands did not rust where did they all go?

In NY all Chrysler products are known for rust. You can buy a decent 20 year old Ranger but good luck finding a decent 20 year old Dodge pickup.

Even the Jeeps rot here.

Even my 76 parts cars are rust free, imagine that. Even better an early rust free 76 made 12/75.

I have lots of rust free 76 parts and if anyone needs any all they do is have to make the drive and that can have them.

Been making F body cars great again since 1980 although some who hate our country might say they were never great.

Look at all that rust... good grief.

Many overlook the value of a good parts car where some parts are better then nos because they have only been manhandled one time during production. We cant overlook the horrific wiring harnesses or the seat tracks that rust away on the first humid day. Those F body guys I tell ya.... fools and there money.

The advantages of not living in NY. My Diplomat was sold new in Utah and spent most of its life in Arizona. Beautiful metal, even the brake line fittings come free with ease. A NY car would need a torch to even have a chance of not snapping the fittings.

If you check out South Main Auto on YouTube you'll see that everything in NY rots. It's just a question of how fast.

Wait, why am I even in NY anymore?
