79 volare
I bought this one last month. 79 volare moredoor, super 6, 904 trans. I had pestered my co-worker for years about this car, to use as a donor car for my 318 Duster. I was joking with him one day, "Bob, ya ready to sell me that Volare?" He looked at me, nodded, and said I'll take $500, but it dont run anymore. my wife and I went to his house after work with a hot battery, and relized it had a bad starter. i sent my wife to the nearest pick-n-pull for a starter. she came back with one from a 97 dakota. (high torque mini starter)
I spun it over for about 30 seconds, and the little six came to life. I took it up to the station and threw a few gallons of fuel in her, and drove it 20 miles home. after we got it home, i did an inspection of it, it turned out the 34,600 miles was original. the AM radio still worked perfect, the AC was still blowing cold. Everything still went buzz or click just like when it was new. still runs, drives and smells like a new car. so now, i'm stuck with a car that I couldn't bring myself to cut up, and i already have my Duster, my wife's Satellite, my truck, and the wife's minivan, so we changed the oil and tranny fluid, gave it a bath, and threw my extra rallyes on it, and gave to to the wife's mother. I'm gonna try to upload pics, let's see if this works!
