Hello All,

I've been going around in circles trying to figure out which version of Dodge automatic I have.

The know it came from a 1995 Dodge Dakota pick-up with the 318 V8. The number on the side of the rail for the ATF pan is;
PK5211832421083192.

Depending on which website I go to it is either an A500, A518, 42RH, 44RH or 46RH which is a royal PITA. Makes sourcing any parts difficult. :-)

The transmission is currently at my brother's place about 2,000 km (1,200 mi), away so I can't physically check anything. I do have a number of pictures if that helps the detectives out there.

Looking forward to the feedback.

Hello Both,

Thanks for the quick reply. I know it is an RH version as it only has two electrical connectors; a 3 pin (12V, OD, TCC), and 2 pin (neutral / park). As for the pan, below is a picture - hope that helps.

That's a 518/46RH. The 46RH designation was just a name change for the transmission. It's based on the 727.

Hello Duke5A,

You're the man!!! Brilliant, I was hoping it was a A518 / 46RH. You have no idea how many hours I spent trying to determine what version I have.
Thank you!
